Charlestown Place of New Albany is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) / Executive Director to lead the operations of our long-term care community. Position Summary
The Licensed Nursing Home Administrator directs the overall operations of the facility under the authority of the management company, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial stability, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the 24-hour operations of the facility.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability to department directors and management staff.
- Promote a culture focused on resident-centered care, quality outcomes, and employee engagement.
- Ensure exceptional customer service for residents, families, visitors, and referral partners.
Financial and Strategic Management
- Manage facility budgets and financial performance.
- Collaborate with department leaders to optimize resources, staffing, equipment, and supplies.
- Drive census growth and maintain strong occupancy performance.
- Monitor operational metrics and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead survey preparedness efforts and serve as the facility leader during regulatory surveys.
- Direct corrective action plans and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Maintain all required facility documentation and reporting.
Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts.
- Analyze trends, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that improve resident outcomes.
- Conduct routine quality and compliance rounds throughout the facility.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, OSHA, life safety, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Direct investigations involving incidents, accidents, and workplace injuries.
- Coordinate emergency response efforts to protect residents, staff, and visitors.
Team Development
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing leaders and team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for continued growth.
- Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
- Promote employee engagement and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Prior healthcare leadership experience required.
- Long-term care or skilled nursing leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in regulatory compliance, team leadership, census development, and financial management.
Licensure
- Current Nursing Home Administrator License in accordance with applicable state requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough understanding of long-term care operations and regulatory requirements.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with residents, families, employees, physicians, and community stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare management systems.
Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to walk throughout the facility, sit, stand, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, communicate effectively, and respond quickly in emergency situations.
